16-Jan-16 The International Atomic Energy Agency announced that Iran had adequately dismantled its nuclear weapons program, allowing for the United Nations to lift sanctions immediately.
17-Jan-16 EAM Smt Sushma Swaraj visited Palestine.
17-Jan-16 Three bullet-riddled bodies found from Balochistan’s Kech.
17-Jan-16 At least 14 people were killed when a suicide bomber struck during a Jirga at the home of politician Obaiduallah Shinwari, who escaped unscathed at Jalalabad, Afghanistan.
18-Jan-16 EAM Smt Sushma Swaraj visited Israel.
19-Jan-16 A suicide bomber hit a roadside checkpoint on the N-5 National Highway, close to Peshawar, killing ten people and injuring 42 others. Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility.
19-Jan-16 An IED was detonated at a FCs (Frontier Corps) Margat Checkpoint in Quetta (Baluchistan) , killing six Frontier Corps personnel and wounding another one. No militant group claimed responsibility for the attack.
20-Jan-16 Bacha Khan University attack: 4 gunmen equipped with suicide vests, opened fire on Bacha Khan University, killing 20 people and wounding another 20 at Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Charsadda is about 29 kilometers from Peshawar.
20-Jan-16 A suicide car bomber detonated explosives close to the Russian embassy in Kabul, apparently targeting a bus. Seven people were killed, including two women and around 25 were wounded. Taliban claimed responsibility for the blast.
22-Jan-16 NIA arrested 13 suspected ISIS sympathizers from various parts of the country.
23-Jan-16 Chinese President Xi Jinping was on three country tour of Saudi Arabia, Iran and Egypt from 19 to 23 Jan 2016.
24-Jan-16 EAM Smt Sushma Swaraj visited Manama (Bahrain) for the First Ministerial Meeting of Arab-India Cooperation Forum. The Forum discussed wide ranging issues including terrorism and India-Arab cultural ties.
 24-Jan-16 Two Chinese nationals were killed and another injured in a suspected bomb attack in Xaysomboun province of Laos on Sunday. The Chinese embassy confirmed the incident, saying one of the victim was an employee of a mining company from China’s Yunnan province. Xaysomboun province is located in central Laos with a population of some 82,000. The mountainous area has been seeing rise in violence recently, reported China Daily.
26-Jan-16 French President visited India as the chief guest on Republic day.
28-Jan-16 Iranian President Hassan Rouhani visited France from January 27 to January 29. Mr Rouhani met with his French counterpart on 28 Jan in Paris. He also travelled to Rome and Vatican.
29-Jan-16 Four people killed and 18 wounded in a suicide bomb and gun attack on a Shia mosque in al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia.
